Amazon deals vs Walmart deals: where the real discounts are

Amazon and Walmart are not two skins on the same store. The discounts they run, the way shipping works, and the kinds of promo codes that appear are different. If you treat every “70% off” card the same, you will buy the wrong thing from the wrong place.
Electronics and gadgets
Amazon wins on selection and on the long tail: cables, headphone alternatives, last-gen tablets. Best Buy still matters for big-ticket TVs and laptops, but between Amazon and Walmart, Amazon deals show up more often in deal feeds for gadgets.
Walmart wins when the item is a commodity already in their warehouse - a printer, a TV at a holiday rollback, a tablet they chose to feature. The Walmart price is sometimes the one that deal posters lead with, even if Amazon matches it an hour later.
