Best deal categories to watch (without watching all of them)

You do not need twelve notification toggles. You need the two or three deal categories that match how you already spend. Here is how the aisles on Dealspert tend to behave, so you can choose. This is evergreen on purpose. Swap the examples when the season changes; the structure holds.

Electronics

High dollar, frequent posts, lots of fake MSRPs. Worth watching if you were already going to replace a laptop, headphones, or a TV. Pair with Best Buy and Amazon. Ignore gadget drops that create a problem you did not have.

Home and garden, plus furniture

This is where Dealspert currently sees a lot of volume: kitchen, decor, patio, sofas, desks. Good category alerts if you are furnishing or restocking. Bad category alerts if you are bored in the evening - you will own a third air fryer.

Fashion and beauty

Calendar-driven. Apparel promo codes and skincare discounts spike around holidays and retailer events, then go quiet. Turn Fashion or Beauty on for a known sale window, then turn them off. Otherwise the feed is noise.

Food and dining

Smaller dollars, higher frequency, real if you already grocery shop or order in. A grocery coupon you use weekly beats a once-a-year gadget “win.” Enable Food & Dining if you want the app to pay for itself in boring ways.

Travel and entertainment

Spiky and perishable. Flight deals and game discounts are worth an alert if you have a trip on the calendar or a backlog you were going to buy. They are a poor default for everyone.

Sports, automotive, books

Worth a watch if that is your hobby or your commute. They will not carry the whole app. Search when you need a tire sale or a textbook discount; do not let them ping you daily.

Other

A mixed bag by design. Leave alerts off unless you like surprises.

A default setup

Most people should start with:

1. One high-dollar aisle you already shop (usually Electronics or Home)
2. One everyday aisle (Food, or Fashion if you actually buy clothes on sale)
3. Nothing else

Add a third only after a month of logging savings. If a category never appears in that log, it does not deserve a badge on your lock screen.
